Blog Introduction & Announcements

Hi there, and welcome! I imagine you might be curious about my journey as a writer, and I decided to create this space as a way to showcase that.

Writing is a creative artform and I'm aiming to use this space in a relaxed manner. So please be mindful of that and respect my original work. The level of polish will vary.

If you're interested in some of my fanworks, I invite you to check them out here. For my own peace of mind I'll only post some short snippets of lines I enjoyed here.

It's okay if it's not your cup of tea, but I personally enjoy it as a hobby. It's a relaxing outlet and a great way to warm up. I also find it to be a fun exercise to practice utilizing other's characters, building upon established lore, and finding ways to expand and better it.

This blog is broken up into five categories: poetry, language study, gaming thoughts, creative writing, and blog updates. The top banner has them listed and you're free to click on any category you wish. Each of the posts are tagged.

While most of the categories are self explanatory, I will elaborate on Gaming Thoughts. The category began as a space to point out:

-The parts that stuck out and connected with me specifically

-The parts that I'd like to remember and use as a potential jumping off point when dreaming up new games

Like the rest of this website it's always evolving. I'd like to use it for a variety of formats, so we'll have to wait and see together where it goes!

Announcements

November 2023

Honestly, I'm baffled how much time has flown by. I'm still not ready to make an update, but one is sorely needed. So stay tuned for a better one than this...

In short, the past few months have been brutal in my personal life. Everything's been in disarray, and I'm doing my best. And despite the bad, I do have good things to share. Projects I'm super excited about. I'm just trying to find a better footing in my days before I explain what's been happening.

May 2023

The seasons have finally changed enough that I can breathe a bit easier now. This past winter was difficult (and the yard still looks like a disaster zone).

Now that May is coming to a close I'm trying to get my ducks in a row. My years of hard work culminated in the final Our Life Baxter DLC and now I'm searching for my next chapter. I can't wait to see what new things I'll learn in 2023!

One last important note: I've been working on improving this website, but it's been a slow, uphill battle. This is my first from scratch website and I'm teaching myself as I go. I recently moved the blog posts, and then I ended up reverting back to this set up. I believe the posts will maintain their original post date, but they might also contain an edited date. So, for curiosity sake that's why.

July 2023

The days keep flying by, but I spent the end of June planning in my notebook how I'd like to present myself here in this entire website space. I'm still not entirely sure if I'm putting too much out here, but I think I feel most at peace combining the game pages with the portfolio writeup I made back in May. I think it best explains my experiences in game dev (For now. I still need to comb through drafts and gameplay to collect a variety of examples).

I know I have a ton to learn, and I'd like to begin future projects on a stable footing. I can't wait to see where the wind takes me next!
